Circular Economy Act: A debate on the future European law will take place in Rome on September 14th.
On September 14, 2026, the conference “Towards the Circular Economy Act: What Prospects for Europe and Italy” will be held in the Sala della Protomoteca in the Campidoglio, Rome, promoted by the Kyoto Club.
The meeting will focus on the future European Union framework law on the circular economy, expected in autumn 2026. This new measure could introduce significant regulatory and structural changes for businesses, impacting industrial policies, resource management, and the organization of production processes. The consequences for the Italian production system
The Circular Economy Act aims to promote a more efficient use of raw materials, incentivize the recovery and recycling of materials, and reduce Europe’s dependence on resources from third countries.
Italian businesses are therefore facing a phase of profound transformation. Adapting to the new provisions may require investments, changes to production processes, and new obligations, but it could also represent a significant opportunity to innovate, reduce waste, and improve competitiveness.

The meeting program
The day will begin at 10:00 with a welcome for participants and will continue with institutional greetings and introductory speeches.
Contributions are expected from representatives of the Kyoto Club, Roma Capitale, Lazio Innova, the Symbola Foundation, and various organizations and companies working in the fields of environment, energy, materials recovery, and sustainability.
In the afternoon, a session dedicated to priorities for the circular economy will be held, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, ISPRA, Legambiente, ENEA, and Confindustria. The meeting will conclude at 3:30 PM.
